Nalanda and Taxila were the ancient Universities in India. They were basically the Buddhist Centers of Learning. However, there were faculties on Religion and Philosophy, Astronomy, Medicine - Ayurveda, Botany & Herbal Medicine, Engineering - Architect, Indian and Chinese History and Philosophy, Yoga and Martial Arts etc. Students from different parts of the world came there for their higher education.

It is also said that the Three Scholars (Magi) who visited the Infant Jesus Christ at Bethlehem were from Taxila University. Later, Jesus Christ was a student of that University during his secret or unknown period. The great influence of Non-Brahmanic Hinduism and Buddhism can be seen in his teachings. Further, he practiced Yoga and Meditation even during his public life. He preferred to be known not as a Prophet but as Master or Teacher (Guru).

Resurrection of Nalanda University will lead to the revival of the ancient way of learning and greater understanding between nations, especially Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand and India. One more country - Sri Lanka - can also be added, because in the ancient Nalanda University, there were well known faculty members and students from that country.Sage Nagarjuna, a product of Nalanda University, was Sri Lanka.

I am wondering any management institute/b-school is not appered in the list. It is also surprising to note absence of institutes from Pakistan. It is the lesson one should draw that universities from unrepresented area should collaborate with Asian best institutes from Asia it self rather than USA and Europe.
